Credit Card

How do I transfer balances from other credit cards to my First Internet Bank credit card?

You may transfer balances from other credit cards up to the available credit on your First Internet Bank credit card. There is no fee to transfer balances, but interest will begin to accrue on the transfer amount immediately. (There is no grace period on balance transfers.) You may request a balance transfer when you apply for a First Internet Bank credit card. If you already have a First Internet Bank credit card, log in to your online banking account, click Additional Services and select Request Balance Transfers.

If you do not have online banking access, call a Relationship Banker at 1-888-873-3424 or fax to 1-888-644-8678 your name, account or card number, company name holding the account to be transferred (if applicable), payment mailing address and dollar amount to be transferred.

What is the billing cycle for First Internet Bank credit cards?

The billing cycle begins on the sixth (6th) day of the month and ends on the fifth (5th) day of the following month. Payment is due by the fourth (4th) day of the following month.

A company has made an unauthorized charge to my First Internet Bank credit card. Can First Internet Bank block this merchant from making future charges to my account?

First Internet Bank cannot block a merchant from charging your account. If you feel that a charge has been made to your account in error, you must first contact the merchant directly to attempt to resolve the disputed charge before you can file a dispute with First Internet Bank. When and if it becomes necessary to file a dispute with us, you will need to provide documentation of your attempt to resolve the matter with the merchant.

Documentation, at a minimum, should include the date and time(s) of your contact with the merchant, the name(s) of the person(s) to whom you spoke, and the response(s) you received. The merchant has 30 days to credit your account.

If you are unable to resolve the matter with the merchant, you may file a Visa dispute form and submit it to us as quickly as possible. You will need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software to view and print the form. If you cannot print the dispute form, please call us at 1-888-873-3424 and we will email, fax or mail the form to you.

I’d like to request an increase to the limit on my First Internet Bank credit card. How do I do that?

To request an increase to your credit card limit, you’ll need to complete a credit limit increase form. Log in to your online banking account, click Additional Services and select Request Credit Limit Increase.

I paid my Visa balance in full before the due date but was charged finance charges. Why?

If you opened a First Internet Bank credit card, finance charges are assessed on cash advance and balance transfer amounts, and there is no grace period on these types of transactions. You could also owe a finance charge if you did not pay the balance in full on the previous statement cycle.
